Objective

Receive and transmit information to coordinate the operations of other personnel and vehicles that perform a service.

Responsibilities:

  1. Responsible for the weighing of vehicles prior and after uplifting construction products.
  2. Ensure that vehicles have the relevant authorization before they are cleared for loading.
  3. Provide timely reports.
  4. Scheduling and Coordination: Dispatchers coordinate the delivery schedules of construction products and other materials, ensuring that shipments are made on time and according to customer requirements. They manage and optimize delivery routes and timings.
  5. Communication: They serve as a liaison between drivers, customers, and other departments. Effective communication is essential for resolving issues, addressing customer inquiries, and keeping all parties informed about delivery status.
  6. Monitoring and Tracking: Dispatchers track the location and status of delivery trucks and shipments in real-time.
  7. Problem Solving: They handle any issues or disruptions that occur during the delivery process, such as vehicle breakdowns, traffic delays, quick problem-solving is essential to minimize disruptions.
  8. Documentation and Reporting: Dispatchers are responsible for maintaining accurate records of deliveries, including times, routes, and any incidents that occur. They also generate reports as needed for management.
  9. Compliance: They ensure that all operations comply with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards. This includes verifying that all required documentation is in order and that drivers adhere to legal requirements.
  10. Resource Management: They manage the allocation of resources, such as trucks and drivers, to ensure efficient and effective delivery operations.
  11. Customer Service: Providing excellent customer service is a key aspect of the dispatcher’s role, addressing any customer concerns or special requests related to deliveries.

Requirements:

  • 3 subjects at CXC inclusive of Math's and English.
  • Computer literate.
  • Knowledge of Excel & Microsoft.
  • Strong Verbal and Written Communication.
  • Strong Organizational Abilities.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability. 

Experience:

  • At least one year of work experience in logistics.
