COMMERCIAL SALES DIRECTOR

OBJECTIVE

The Commercial Sales Director leads and drives sales and business development initiatives, and fosters growth, profitability, and market expansion through strategic planning, effective team management, relationship building, and innovative approaches, while ensuring adherence to company values and objectives

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 Strategy and Business Development & Execution

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of the strategic plans for the industrial, commercial and retail divisions
  • Prepare sales forecasts
  • Ensure the market viability and sales potential of contracted products from partner companies by driving their development and positioning within the company’s portfolio.
  • Identify and develop opportunities for regional and international growth.
  • Manage relationships with local and overseas suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Engage with key customers, negotiate deals, and maintain relationships.
  • Resolve product/service issues and customer complaints

 Marketing

  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department in creating category marketing strategies
  • Support company public relations and promotional activities.

 People Management

  • Develop and implement sales team policies and procedures for effective operations.
  • Ensure accountability among team members in meeting sales targets and driving profitability.
  • Coach, and develop sales personnel, engineers, brand ambassadors for improved performance.

 KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Strategic thinking
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing, motivating, and managing a team with diverse skill sets.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relationships across cultures within and outside of the Caribbean.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.

 JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or other relevant field
  • B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering or similar qualification.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience at the executive leadership level
  • Proven track record in sales leadership, brand development and driving sales for well-established brands
  • Previous experience in the energy and/or industrial industries
  • Knowledge of the electrical, hardware industries desirable
  • International business experience desirable
