Commercial Analyst

Job Summary:

The Commercial Analyst be responsible for the provision of data which will aid in decision making in the areas of pricing, discounts, margin analyses, trade and marketing expenditure.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis of the company's commercial activities, including revenue, costs, profitability, and pricing strategies.
• Gather and analyze market data, trends, and competitor information to identify potential business opportunities and threats.
• Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to develop and implement effective pricing strategies, promotions, and discounts to maximize revenue.
• Create accurate sales forecasts based on historical data, market trends, and sales team input to support inventory management and resource allocation.
• Assess the profitability of different product lines, customer segments, and geographic regions to optimize the allocation of resources.
• Assist in the development of annual budgets and financial plans and provide ongoing financial performance analysis to track progress against targets.
• Review and analyze commercial contracts to ensure alignment with company goals and mitigate risks.
• Prepare business cases for potential sales and trade opportunities
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to provide Finance support for monthly and quarterly plans and reviews.

Minimum Required Qualifications and Experience:

• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in a similar role
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field and/or Pursuing ACCA Level 2 certification years of accounting/finance experience
• Experience in cost accounting and/or control or a related field is an assett.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies:v

• Proven experience in financial analysis, preferably within the manufacturing industry.
• Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools.
• Excellent knowledge of Excel, financial software, and data visualization tools.
• Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with staff of varying technical expertise.
