Reporting to the COO, the incumbent delivers key insights into business performance and analysis. Functions include: Internal and External Analysis to include information via dashboards and performance reports (customers, markets, revenue, inventory, sales, CRM)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide strong and in depth commercial analysis and commentary around the commercial strategy to give leadership a view on the strength of the business and alignment to overall business strategy
  • Design, analyze and produce reports that will provide key insight for management decision making
  • Perform trending and critical analysis to highlight issues and support conclusions as to their causes              
  • Interpret the financial significance of operational & commercial KPI’s
  • Research and analyze quantitative data to support the dentification of new business opportunities
  • Assist in the preparation of business cases to assess commercial viability of new revenue channels
  • Perform regular market and competitor analysis for all market segments (Transactions, Distribution and Logistics)
  • Strategic business planning support to the Regional Managers to enable them to drive business initiatives, with particular focus on revenue and contribution margin
  • Support the Operational Teams in understanding reports and forecasts
  • Assist with the implementation of the group commercial and pricing recommendations across all channels and market segments
  • Produce periodic reports (revenue, financial packs etc.) to include daily, weekly, monthly and senior management reports
  • Be the go to for any questions regarding forecast, company performance or any other key revenue management reporting
  • Analyze results of strategies and tactics deployed on a monthly basis and communicate as necessary
  • Provide analysis of major distribution channels to ensure that the group is maximizing revenue and marketing exposure
  • Develop market segment analysis for evaluating new and existing accounts
  • Analyze performance for each market segment to determine appropriate strategic actions
  • Analyze demand to suport leadership in determining effective yield strategies to optimize revenue
  • Assist in preparation of timely and accurate consolidated management accounts (including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash flow statement and analysis) on a monthly basis
  • Evaluate monthly/quarterly results on both Revenue (Product, Customer etc.) and Contribution Margin and the presentation of findings & recommendations to CCD
  • Develop and assess KPI's for assigned Business Unit/Region to provoke conversations with business leaders around the performance/health of the business

 

C.         REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

 Education and Experience        

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Science or related area
  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a Financial Analyst or Commercial Analyst
  • Experience in product management, with demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products

 

Competencies

  • Must be adept at scoping requirements, structuring deliverables, and project managing their work streams
  • Possess numerical skills and be Excel proficient (advanced preferred) as the work will be a mix of qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Able to demonstrate a successful track record in writing clear concise informative analytical research reports, mainly presentations but also in long form (i.e. Word), and for blogs.
  • Be outgoing and resilient with natural skills at building relationships and befriending our internal clients.
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Power Bi.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite: word, excel & PowerPoint (Strong Microsoft excel skills).
  • Ability to prepare & deliver presentations with PowerPoint and reports using Excel.
  • Distinct critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • The ability to understand and manage key performance indicators.
  • The ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships across levels within the organization.
  • Strong commercial acumen.
