Overview:Our client is one of the longest established Financial Services organizations based in Barbados. Due to expansion, they are seeking to recruit a proven professional to compliment the executive.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Plan, organize and direct all information systems activities (software, hardware and network) including planning, acquisition, implementation, support and troubleshooting.
  •  Ensure that there is consistent system availability and performance in line with the organization’s strategic IT and IT related goals by analyzing and resolving problems, conducting test and monitoring activities, analyzing reports, and taking actions based on service commitments.
  • Maintain reliable IT operating systems and ensuring the continual functionality of the system throughout the organisation, regarding software delivery efficiency and product resiliency and optimizing computer and network costs, as well as coordinating and managing an organisation-wide network team.
  • Provide leadership and management to the I. T. department and strategic guidance to senior management and staff regarding acquiring computer technologies and their efficient use.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround times, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly to provide quality seamless customer service:
  • Plan, monitor and evaluate reporting staff performance, ensuring effective teamwork and consistency toward achieving overall goals.
  • Establish and ensure maintenance of a "help desk" to help with problems related to computer services and/or equipment. This includes tracking calls, follow-up and preparing written reports.
  • Prepare and monitor annual departmental and special project budgets
  • Develop plans and procedures to protect the information system’s security by utilizing the relevant internal resources.
  • Manage multiple business and/or computer applications through development and support phases.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with all employees and the public using the principles of good customer service.
  • Supervise the Deputy Chief Technology Officer and I.T team which entails organizing the training of employees, planning, assigning and directing work, and appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
  • Plan, design and relocate Server Infrastructure.
  • Implement Cloud based Services.
  • Identify the possible impact/usage of Artificial Intelligence (AI) where applicable.
  • Co-ordinate the expansion of ATM network.
  • Work with other Division Heads to drive the organization’s digitalization projects.
  • Establish and monitor performance metrics driven by relevant ROIs on IT and IT related investments.
  • Establish and maintain policies, procedures and systems directed towards ensuring the risk postures of the organization’s IT and IT related platforms meet agreed standards.
  • Ensure that all IT and IT related systems are maintained in accordance with agreed standards.

Requirements

• A minimum of five (5) years professional experience in a demanding Information Technology environment preferably in the finance industry
• At least three (3) years of experience in an executive level position required.
• A Master’s degree in information technology/ project management or full suite of relevant Technical Certifications such as M.C.S.E, CISSP, AWS etc.
• Very strong verbal and written communication skills.
• A proven track record of consistent performance and achievement.
• Excellent analytical skills
• Detail-oriented
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent project management skills
• A sound understanding of modern card payment systems and processes
