My client Memory Bank Computer (MBC) Trinidad is a prominent technology company that has been at the forefront of providing innovative ICT solutions for Enterprise, Government, Academic, and SMB customers for more than 30 years. MBC Trinidad is seeking to recruit an experienced and qualified individual who identifies with the principles, values and purpose of MBC Trinidad to fill the position of Chartered Accountant, Business Processing Order (BPO).

The ideal candidate must meet the required education, examination, and experience standards set by a recognized accounting body. He/she will provide a wide range of financial services and play a crucial role in financial management, reporting, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information and compliance with regulatory standards. The incumbent is expected to effectively collaborate with staff and monitor systems and procedures and make recommendations for process improvements.

 Some Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Maintains and balances Ledgers, Payables, Receivables, GL and other documents for associate companies assigned.

 

  1. Prepares for approval, all statutory returns including VAT, Other Taxes, Company Returns etc.

 

  1. Schedules and plans audits; assists in development of the institution's annual internal audit plan.

 

  1. Prepares and analyzes financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS, etc.).

 

  1. Consolidates financial data from various sources and presents it accurately and clearly.

 

  1. Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including preparation and submission of tax returns.

 

  1. Provide financial advice to clients or management on investment decisions, financial strategies, and risk management.

 

  1. Conducts financial analysis and forecasting to support strategic decision-making.

 

  1. Develop and implement internal controls to mitigate financial risks and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

 

  1. Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, monitoring variances and providing explanations for deviations.

 

  1. Analyze financial data to identify trends and recommend adjustments to achieve financial objectives.

 

  1. Communicate financial information effectively to stakeholders, including senior management, clients, and regulatory authorities.

 

  1. Identifies opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the finance function.

 

  1. Plans, performs and carries out audit work, including plan preparation, workpapers, finding, and associated reports; verifies the accuracy of financial records as they pertain to assets, liabilities, receipts, expenditures, and related transactions.

 

  1. Coordinates and interacts with managers, administrators, and staff, and with external auditors, as needed; may also be required to interact with external institutions, and with vendors doing business with the company.

 

  1. Keeps abreast of policies and procedures, current developments in accounting and auditing professions, and changes in regulations and laws, as applicable.

 

  1. Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, shorthand long-range planning; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in  accomplishment of established goals.

EDUCATION

 

  • ACCA Professional Qualification or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE

 

  • At least 10 years post qualification experience.
