Business Intelligence Officer

BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE OFFICER

Reporting to the Strategy & Business Support Manager, the incumbent will be expected to utilize data thorough analyses, report generating, building of data models and associated techniques to assist the company in achieving its strategic objectives.

Our ideal candidate is a proactive, team-oriented and organized individual with strong written and oral communication, decision making skills, analytical skills and abstract reasoning abilities.

 At minimum, applicants should possess the following:

• First Degree in Computer Studies, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Economics or related field
• Two (2) years’ experience in an insurance company or similar type financial institution
• Knowledge of Business Intelligence processes and best practices, including working knowledge of SAP BusinessObjects, Tableau, or other Business Intelligence tools
• Knowledge of Data Warehousing, technical and operational processes
• Working knowledge of R, Python, MATLAB, SAS, or other statistical programming language
•  Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or matplotlib.
•  Training or experience in a Business Analyst role would be an asset
• Knowledge of property and casualty insurance concepts and practices is an asset
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and techniques.
• Strong customer relations and relationship building skills, poise, tact and diplomacy.
• Excellent public relations and presentation skills
• Excellent time management and the ability to demonstrate initiative, listen, negotiate and meet deadlines
