About the Role

The Business Development Officer is responsible for recruiting and retaining a high quality portfolio of credit products with a primary focus on the personal mortgage offering. The incumbent will be expected to make a significant contribution in the achievement of the country’s credit sales growth targets through the direct selling of all mortgage and consumer finance related products, and proactively identify new sales opportunities.

About Success

  • Contributes to country credit sales growth targets, through the direct selling of all mortgage and consumer finance related products.
  • Manages and grows the existing portfolio by building and broadening the scope of the client relationship and increasing wallet share of the clients.
  • Focuses on providing world class personalized and professional service to all existing and new mortgage clients, providing a consultancy-based approach to client relationships.
  • Monitors and ensures adherence to risk service standards on legislation relating to money laundering and other compliance responsibilities / issues.

About You

  • Experience in selling, negotiating, relating with customers and identifying new business opportunities.
  • Knowledge of business development techniques, ability to identify opportunities, plan and develop incremental personal banking business to recognize and capitalize on opportunities to refer clients as required.
  • Competency in all aspects of credit analysis with an in depth understanding of credit risk management.
  • Sound knowledge of the market as well as economic conditions and trends.
  • Good numeracy skills including an understanding of accounting principles and the interpretation of financial ratios.
