The Bar Manager plan, direct and oversee all bar operations including managing staff, ensuring that product and service standards are met and implementing and maintaining procedures for maximum operating efficiency.

Summary of Bar Manager's Duty

  1. Set objectives and targets for beverage unit/bar.
  2. Determine staff needs and recruit staff.
  3. Delegate duties and tasks to staff to meet objectives and maximize resources.
  4. Set and monitor quality and service standards for staff.
  5. Direct and manage staff members to meet standards and objectives.
  6. Ensure staff operate within company policies.
  7. Organize and adjust staff rotas and schedules in accordance with available resources daily manning.
  8. Oversee the preparation and presentation of beverages to meet set standards.
  9. Resolve customer complaints promptly.
  10. Monitor cleanliness and hygiene of bar area.
  11. Promote and practice compliance with fire, health, safety and hygiene standards and regulations.
  12. Ensure adherence to stock control procedures, monitor and order supplies.
  13. confirm that procurement of supplies is on the best possible terms.
  14. Oversee the bar display to maximize functionality and attractiveness.
  15. Implement improvements for products and service.
  16. Maintain regular communication with staff and management through meetings and discussions.
  17. Review management rosters.
  18. Performs other duties as required.
  19. Attend weekly executive meetings.
  20. Liaise with Human Resources Department with regards to recruitment needs, training analysis and delivery and employee relations.

Qualification Required

  • Tertiary qualification in Hotel or Bar Management or its equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Passion for teamwork.
  • Very strong leadership skills.
  • Must have current food and beverage handling licenses/permits and maintain such licenses/permits.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English is Mandatory

     Skills & Experience

  • Three (3) Years’ experience in this capacity within a hotel environment
  • Experience in the management of a bar or beverage service operation.
  • Complete working knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Knowledge of management principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of human resource management practices.
  • Knowledge of administrative procedures.
  • Knowledge of relevant computer applications.
