The Business Development Sales Associate is primarily accountable for generating new business, identifying opportunities for business growth and creating strategies based on those opportunities to meet and exceed revenue goals of the Credit Union.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Continually meet or exceed sales targets by delivering products to new and existing members in accordance with annual revenue objectives.
  • Managing the full sales cycle, from opportunity identification through to negotiation and close of sale.
  • Promote TECU’s products and services to potential members, engaging in face-to-face visits to prospective clients and use other networking mediums to engage potential members. 
  • Develop strong member relations through frequent communication, professional, courteous and ethical interpersonal interactions.
  • Quickly move members through the sales process by delivering outstanding consultative, sales, and member experience.
  •  Keeping abreast of the latest industry developments by attending meetings, training workshops, and industry events.
  • Develop and maintain up to date pipeline reports consistently on a daily and/or weekly basis.
  • Keep abreast of department’s performance metrics, data and statistics on member retention and finances.
  • Prepare business proposals for new and existing products.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of business development strategies to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Maintain communication, networking, and good working relationships with key departments in the Credit Union to foster harmony and on-going business relations.
  • Provide reports and management information to ensure that the Credit Union and the Business Development Unit meet with requirements made known by clients monthly.
  • Perform any other related duties as required by the job function.

 

 General Qualification and Experience

Education

  •  BSc in Business Management or related field from a recognised institution             

Experience

  •  At least five (5) years working experience in a similar or related job

 Or any equivalent combination of qualification and experience

Technical Knowledge

  • Proven outside sales experience.
  • Results-oriented mindset and a track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Ability to work independently and drive sales results.
  • Solid understanding of direct/indirect lending products and practices
  • Customer satisfaction orientation and sales competencies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of Financial Markets and Economic Conditions
  • Technical Report Writing and Presentation Skills
  • Knowledge of Project Management will be an asset
