OVERVIEW: 

KPMG Jamaica has a delivery center named "Jamaica Extended Support Services (JESS)" operating from Kingston, which is contracted to provide professional services and support to its member firm KPMG United States ("the Client").

The AML Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering regulations. They review transaction alerts, assess their legitimacy, and maintain quality standards. Key responsibilities include: Conducting reviews of transaction alerts based on AML guidelines. Delivering against productivity and quality targets. Managing the alert pipeline efficiently. Reporting delivery metrics to the AML Specialist.

This role requires a strong understanding of AML regulations, attention to detail, and effective communication skills. The AML Transaction Monitoring Analyst contributes to safeguarding financial institutions against illicit activities.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Service Delivery

  • Perform research and analysis of transaction alerts or cases from the financial institution’s AML monitoring systems.  
  • Prepare clear written statements and supporting documentation of the disposition of alerts or cases with expected quality and within expected timeframe. 
  • Provide recommendation for regulatory report filing within required timeframes with documented support or escalate according to the procedures.
  • Obtain and evaluate KYC/CDD/EDD forms and documentation including adverse media alerts, beneficial ownership documentation for legal entities.
  • Process OFAC screening alerts; documenting the reviews and reporting any findings as necessary.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Business Administration from an accredited college/university or any other related field 
  • A minimum four (4) years experience, preferably in finance.
  • Experience in performing AML investigations case processing work for financial institutions is a plus. 
  • Solid verbal/written communication, problem-solving, analytical, and independent judgement skills to support an environment driven by customer service and teamwork.
  • Ability to work independently and work well within a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills; ability to adhere to deadlines.​Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, an Outlook. 

SPECIAL CONDITIONS

  • Expected to work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Will be working primarily in a paperless environment and expected to be using information systems for the entire workday to access data or perform activities.
  • ​May be required to work extended hours periodically or on public holidays.
