Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of:

AIRPORT SERVICE OFFICER

 (Located at Sangster International Airport)

JOB SUMMARY

To provide all informational services and support to visitors at the airport as required which may include but is not limited to greeting arriving passengers, handling VIPs, providing special passenger assistance, handling customer complaints, and explaining airport regulations to facilitate the smooth on and off-boarding of all visitors to the island.

 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Executes, meets and greets requests to selected passengers and groups;
  •  Guides and assists passengers through the requirements of Customs and Immigration, ensuring that the C5 forms are completed properly;
  •  Liaises with other agencies and entities as the situation demands in assisting visitors;
  •  Assists arriving passengers in identifying and reserving transportation, and accommodation as needed;
  •  Assists arriving passengers with telephone calls/access to the internet to obtain details regarding their trip to  provide to immigration;
  •  Makes public service announcements for both arriving passengers and our internal partners as necessary;
  •  Compiles daily, weekly, monthly and annual statistical reports on passenger arrivals;
  •  Maintains an accurate meet and greet database;
  •  Performs any other related duties assigned.

  

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

  •  Knowledge of the policies, protocols, programmes and projects of the Jamaica Tourist Board
  •  Knowledge of the Jamaican tourism product and the country in general
  •  Knowledge of good customer service techniques and methods
  •  Knowledge of good visitor relations strategies
  •  Ability to interact with a variety of persons
  •  Ability to guide visitors through Jamaican Immigration and Customs Regulations
  •  Ability to converse fluently in a foreign language
  •  Excellent interpersonal skills
  •  Excellent written and oral communication skills
  •  Good command of the English Language – clear diction and pleasant voice
  •  Proficient in Microsoft Office

 

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  •  Five (5) CXC or GCE O Level subjects including English Language and a
  • foreign language
  •  Two (2) years of working experience in Customer Service
  •  Certificate in Customer Service would be an asset
