s an Air Traffic Control Services Manager, you will be responsible for the management and administration of daily Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations of the ATC section.

As an Air Traffic Control Services Manager, you will be responsible for the management and administration of daily Air Traffic Control (ATC) operations of the ATC section.  This includes but is not limited to the following: 

  • The quality management system
  • The aviation safety management system
  • Occupational health and safety
  • The unit training plan
  • Effective human resource planning
  • The financial budget
  • Carrying out the duties of an ATC Examiner (as approved by the Bermuda Civil Aviation Authority)
  • Carrying out the operational duties of an Air Traffic Control Specialist

 Education, Experience and Skills: 

  • A valid ICAO recognized air traffic control licence and an aerodrome control rating
  • A current ICAO Class III Medical Certificate (or the equivalent)
  • ICAO Level 6 English language proficiency rating.
  • Successful completion of a course in air traffic control Examiner, On-the-Job Training Instructor and Air Traffic Management
  • Experience as an ATC OJT Instructor or Training Specialist
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience as a licensed Aerodrome Controller
  • Strong knowledge of ICAO standards and requirements for air traffic management.  Knowledge of UK ASSI requirements is preferred.
  • Ability to provide safe, orderly, and expeditious aerodrome control, ground control, clearance delivery and advisory services to aircraft and vehicles operating on and in the vicinity
  • Ability to effectively manage and lead a team.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written, verbal and listening). Must be able to give clear, concise instructions.  Must also be able to able to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to remain calm when under pressure – particularly when dealing with emergency situations.
  • Ability to make decisions quickly while under pressure and solve complex problems on their own.
  • Ability to demonstrate organizational and delegation skills. 
  • Strong computer skills and proficient in MS Office Suite.  Must be proficient with the use of technology including Tower voice communication switch and essential Tower equipment.

Additional Information:

  • Must be physically fit as access to the Air Traffic Control Tower is using a staircase to reach each of the two levels.
  • On occasion may be exposed to variations in temperature due to the overall construction of the facility.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • On occasion may be expected to attend work and carry out their duties during adverse weather conditions including thunderstorms and high winds.
  • May be required to work on a rotating shift including, working at weekends and on public holidays.
