JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Supervise accounting associates to assure that the department accomplishes accounting objectives by selecting, onboarding, assigning, managing, and mentoring employees.
  2. Meets accounting operational standards by contributing financial information to strategic plans and reviews, resolving problems, and identifying system improvements.
  3. Maintains cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements, and resource planning.
  4. Approves ledger entries by auditing transactions.
  5. Supports annual audit by providing information and answers to auditors.
  6. Verifies employee benefit invoices by verifying coverage and costs.
  7. Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.
  8. Maintains financial security by adhering to internal controls.
  9. Prepares asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
  10. Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
  11. Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  12. Summarizes current financial status by collecting information, preparing balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements, and other reports.
  13. Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
  14. Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
  15. Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  16. Secures financial information by completing database backups and following internal controls.
  17. Prepares payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements.
  18. Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  19. Complies with local laws and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed action.
  20. Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and analyzing trends.
  21. Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • Minimum four years’ experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
