The Accounting Clerk will be responsible for completing various accounting and financial tasks. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
• Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing and recording accounting transactions.
• Preparation of financial reports as needed.
• Preparation and maintenance of audit schedules.
• Prepare and submit monthly General Consumption Tax and other statutory filings.
• Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accuracy in financial records.
• Perform any other accounting related duties assigned.
Qualification & Skill Requirement
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or ACCA Level 2 and/or its equivalent.
• A minimum of three years’ experience in a similar capacity.
• Proficient in accounting principles with a solid understanding of financial concepts.
• Must be proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience using QuickBooks will be considered an asset.
• Familiarity with Jamaican tax regulations and filing procedures will be considered an asset.
• Excellent reporting, analytical, and communication abilities.
• Must be detailed oriented, with a history of making minimal error.
• Must be able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
• High level of confidentiality is required.
