Key Responsibilities: (But not limited to)

  1. Financial Record Keeping and Reconciliation:
    • Maintain and update financial records, including daily sales, cash flow, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
    • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and vendor accounts monthly to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
    • Manage journal entries and general ledger postings for all financial transactions across restaurant locations.
  2. Accounts Payable and Receivable Management:
    • Oversee the accounts payable process, ensuring invoices are accurately recorded and paid in a timely manner.
    • Manage accounts receivable, including invoicing, tracking payments, and following up on overdue accounts.
  3. Payroll Processing and Benefits Management:
    • Prepare and process payroll for restaurant employees, including tracking hours, deductions, and overtime.
    • Ensure compliance with payroll laws and assist in managing employee benefits as needed.
  4. Inventory and Cost Management:
    • Collaborate with restaurant managers to monitor inventory levels, ensuring costs are controlled and aligned with budget goals.
    • Track and analyze costs related to food, labor, and overhead to provide insights that help improve profitability.
  5. Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for cost-saving opportunities.
    • Present financial insights and recommendations to the finance team and management.
  6. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in developing annual budgets for each restaurant location and monitor ongoing budget performance.
    • Work closely with the finance team to provide accurate forecasts based on historical data and current financial trends.
  7. Tax Preparation and Compliance:
    • Prepare and file relevant tax documents and reports, including sales tax, VAT, and other local regulatory requirements.
    • Coordinate with external tax consultants and auditors to ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage audits as needed.
  8. Internal Controls and Process Improvement:
    • Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and safeguard company assets.
    • Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency in financial operations and recommend best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, ideally in the hospitality or restaurant industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Micro-pay, HRP5, Sage, Xero) and MS Excel.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and relevant tax regulations.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Working Conditions:
