Accounting software Certification and Training would be an asset
Knowledge of all relevant policies and procedures within Finance
Knowledge of relevant software systems
Power BI/Workday systems experience desirable
Knowledge of Financial Reporting methods for the insurance industry
Proficient in the capabilities and use of Office Tools and software relevant to job functions.
Knowledge of IAS/IFRS accounting standards
Knowledge of the legislation governing insurance accounting
Excellent written and verbal communication
Five (5) years’ work experience in a similar position in an accounting environment preferably in the insurance industry.

KEY FUNCTIONS
Review Business Processing Procedures and develops document workflows that would ensure accounting documents are available to authorised users
Monitor and ensure that newly created accounts are placed in the appropriate category
Manage all accounting information requirements for financial reporting
Review reconciliation of financial accounts
Analyse and ensure resolutions of all accounting incidents referred to the Department.
Oversee Change Management and help drive the department towards a performance-driven culture
Support planning and budgeting processes, internal knowledge management and information sharing and coordination across the company.
Provide support in managing the Accounting and Finance functions of the Company, ensuring accounting records are maintained in accordance with the established Policy and Procedures and Accounting Principles in order for the financial Records to report a true and fair picture of the financial position of the Company.
Assist in developing, reviewing and implementing controls and procedures that enables timely and accurate processing, analysis and reporting.
Assist in providing comprehensive reports and analysis to support decision making.
Ensure that the company’s Fixed Asset register is accurately maintained and the procedure for the impairment, depreciation, transfer and disposal of Fixed Assets within the company is adhered to.
Ensure that all Capital Expenditure Policy and Procedure is adhered to.
Perform any other duties related to the job function as may be assigned.
