The Accountant will provide support to the finance team and contribute directly to departmental objectives, including supporting month-end duties by assisting in managing the accounts, preparing financial statements, reports, statutory returns, and conducting various analysis.

The Accountant will provide support to the finance team and contribute directly to departmental objectives, including supporting month-end duties by assisting in managing the accounts, preparing financial statements, reports, statutory returns, and conducting various analysis.

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements/records including consolidated reports for management review and decision making within established timelines.
• Prepare daily and monthly reconciliation for all accounts including bank reconciliations and documentation.
• Manage ledgers, journals and fixed asset data base, and ensure accurate financial record keeping across departments.
• Identify and reconcile variances in ledgers and accounts, tracking them to the source and correcting them.
• Conduct continuous analysis on manufacturing variances and other variances to assist the business with strategies for continuous improvement.
• Oversee and manage the inventory close off process, including stock counts and posting of adjustments.
• Drive the month end close off procedure using processes to ensure that numbers are reliable, stable and accurate.
• Prepare and manage month-end Accrual and Prepayment journals.
• Ensure compliance with statutory accounting standards and audit practices.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of VAT and other tax returns.
• Oversee the collection, deposit, and reconciliation of bank funds and accounts.
• Liaise with Internal/External Auditors to ensure audited accounts are submitted in a timely manner and in compliance with Group Policy.
• Perform all duties in conformance to appropriate health, safety, security and environmental policies and procedures.
• Perform any other job duties as required by the job function.
