AW139 Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Trinidad & Tobago

JOB SUMMARY Under the general supervision of the Director of Maintenance, work with or without supervision in performing aircraft and engine inspections, repairs and maintenance unassisted, on two or more types of aircraft as required by TTCAA and PHI Americas Ltd. Directives and company directives. When required, work away from the repair station performing the activities listed above; sign aircraft logs and other documents assuming full responsibility for the work done by himself and others under his supervision. May provide technical assistance and on-the-job training to other mechanics. Perform simple clerical duties. Provide direct supervision to unlicensed mechanics working on aircraft.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Perform daily and periodic inspections, and repair and maintenance of engine and airframe as required by TTCAA regulations and company directives on two or more types of aircraft.
  • Perform a wide variety of repairs on aircraft and related equipment using hand tools and small power tools.
  • Troubleshoot in order to isolate malfunctions.
  • Remove defective or inoperative parts, accessories, components, engines or units, visually inspecting them to determine cause of trouble if possible.
  • Draw replacement unit or part from supply insuring from experience or by reference to technical publications, if necessary, that the new or serviceable replacement unit or part is an approved replacement for the unit or part that was removed from aircraft.
  • Ensure proper tagging and disposition of removed parts.
  • Reinstall part and components.
  • Following reinstallation, perform ground check of unit if required.
  • Annotate aircraft log and work order indicating extent and scope of work performed.
  • When work is accomplished at other than the repair stations, sign aircraft log in accordance with TTCAA regulations.
  • When assigned away from the repair station, may be responsible for the security and control of company assets as his location.
  • Practice good supply discipline by requisitioning only those items required and by promptly returning to supply, excess or serviceable items.
  • Keep personal copy of PHI Americas Ltd. Maintenance Handbook current and keep tools and work area neat and orderly.
  • May provide direct supervision over mechanics and provide on-the-job training.
  • Perform miscellaneous related duties as assigned which, collectively speaking, require no greater attributes.

SCHEDULE/LOCATION

  • As per PHI Americas roster based on a 5x5 schedule.
  • Trinidad and Tobago

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma
  • Hold a TTCAA Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (AMEL) with both Airframe and Power plant
  • AW139 Type Rating Engineer
  • At least 2 years of maintenance experience as a Certifying Engineer
  • Possess basic skills in communication
  • Computer skills required
