ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT - BELIZE

Belize Mills Limited is seeking to identify an Assistant Accountant.

Belize  Mills Limited is seeking to identify an Assistant Accountant who will have primary responsibility for the property/fixed asset ledger for all four (4) Caribbean Milling locations, accounts payable, fortnightly payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations. 

The ideal candidate should possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related finance field.
• At least 5 years of experience at a similar level.
• Proficiency in accounting principles and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent time management and interpersonal abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comprehensive understanding of fixed asset and accounts payable reconciliation processes.
• Familiarity with preparing audit schedules.
• Experience in working with accounts up to the balance sheet stage.
• Strong computing skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

 Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Update property/fixed asset ledger for all four (4) Caribbean Milling locations.
• Prepare assigned journal entries, including accounts payable and fixed asset journals.
• Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts monthly, including accounts payable and fixed assets.
• Preparation of timely payments to suppliers.
• Process fortnightly payroll.
• Preparation of specified audit schedules for statutory audits.
