We’re seeking a dynamic Activations Manager to drive the successful execution of marketing campaigns and brand activations.

Job Summary:

The Activation Manager will lead the team in execution of both on and off-premises activation that; drive sell-out, grow awareness, build customer relationship, increase brand & category value with shoppers/consumers and drive sustainable growth. The Activation Manager through their team will drive the ‘Look Of Success’ (LOKOS) in the respective channels, identify gaps and recommend strategic activities to reach budgeted targets. The Activation Manager will be tasked with aligning internal stakeholders to ensure resources are available to provide support to trade activities for the business to reach budgeted sales revenue and profit targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Planning:
    • Drive strategic planning, process, communications and ways of working across functional areas to facilitate respective product and category executions
    • Provide input and relevant data (with Product Managers) for pre-evaluation reports
    • Drive cross-functional conversations and communication to align plans, strategies, needs and best practices
    • Liaise with sales team to ensure effectiveness of consumer promotions, develop appropriate benchmarks and implement a framework for assessing the effectiveness
  • Activation Planning and Execution:
    • Executing the approved strategies and plans to accelerate sell-out at the Customer level, to deliver Category and Channel growth targets, based on strong and relevant insights and aligned to principal/customer needs and growth opportunities.
    • Working closely with the Sales Team and Marketing Managers, in line with overall brand/category marketing strategies.
    • In alignment with BDM and Product Managers, actively developing Customer Plans (JBP process) within the assigned channel, leveraging the support of the Marketing Team as needed to utilize relevant Consumer Insights, Market Share Analysis and Category trends which influence the respective channel/ category growth strategies.
  • In-trade oversight:
    • Ensuring 100% in-store "on-shelf or in-trade" availability, by working closely with the Field Sales and Merchandising Teams to maximize sell-out opportunities and merchandising excellence and recommending actionable on and off-premises solution within the assigned channel, based on a clear understanding of shopper/consumer behavior related to the categories within the assigned channel.
    • Provide post-evaluation reports to include:
      • Persons engaged
      • Samples provided (if relevant)
      • Feedback from consumers/shoppers
  • Look Of Success (LOKOS):
    • Coordinating in-trade audits to provide relevant data for:
      • Planogram compliance
      • Pricing
      • Competitor Activities
    • Managing teams to ensure that points-of-distribution (POD’s) are always on with:
      • Sampling
      • On/Off-Premises sales pushing
      • Community Events
      • Promotion pushes
    • Tracking and reporting inventory of at risk-accounts:  
      • Refreshing of point-of-sales-materials (POSM)
      • Activations needed to support accounts
      • Need for branded assets
Required Qualifaction, Experience, Knowledge and skills:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, or related field. Master's degree is a plus
  • Proven working experience as an Event & Promotions Co-Ordinator, Sales Executive, Trade Marketing Specialist or a relevant role.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience in supervising activation teams.
  • Strong business sense and entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Good mentoring, coaching, and people management skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects, work under pressure and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously.
