ACCOUNTANT ( Offshore Services)
Overview: Our client is one of the largest service warranty providers in Canada who has been providing support to their national customer base from their modern offices in Barbados for many years.
Due to rapid growth, they are seeking to appoint an Accountant to provide accounting services related to the cash management, general ledger management and financial reporting objectives of the Company.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Weekly/monthly bank reconciliations.
• Report on monthly cash receipts/disbursements.
• Preparation of monthly financial reports.
• Receiving and posting supplier invoices and ensuring they relate to warranty claims.
• Payment of supplier invoices and monthly supplier reconciliations.
• Assisting with auditor/tax schedules as needed.
• Co-ordination and implementation of Payroll
Desired Qualifications/Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Minimum of three years’ experience working in an accounting environment, within the last five years.
• Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Working knowledge of PayPak.
• Pursuing a recognized professional accounting designation (ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent) would be considered an asset.
• Ability to learn quickly in order to acquire product knowledge.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of telephone and computer systems to make best use call center systems efficiently.
• Self-motivated and strong time management skills.
