Overview:

As the Senior Manager - Portfolio Advisory, you will play a critical role in assessing clients' risk tolerance and conducting extensive market research to construct portfolios tailored to maximize their financial gains. Your responsibilities will include crafting investment packages, managing client expectations, and overseeing transactions to align with client objectives. Direct interaction with clients will be pivotal as you guide them through investment opportunities, set realistic expectations, and assist in achieving their financial goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the overall portfolio advisory of the alternative investments funds, inclusive of, but not limited to: credit funds, private equity funds, hedge funds, and real asset funds.
  • Actively lead and contribute to portfolio construction, investment opportunities analysis, monitoring existing positions, managing external relationships, etc.
  • Manage and co-manage the assets of traditional investment fund vehicles inclusive of equity and bond portfolios, mutual funds, unit trusts and exchange traded funds with agreed performance targets.
  • Monitoring and evaluating private credit funds, co-investment and secondary investment opportunities within a portfolio context.
  • Independently evaluate recommendations provided by the investment advisor to each alternative investment fund and make recommendations to the Investment Risk Management Committee (IRMC), respective Board of Directors (“the Board”) or other governance committees where necessary.
  • Perform due diligence/analysis on new client relationships and opportunity memos as appropriate.
  • Devise asset allocation strategies inclusive of investment policy statements, for client portfolios and investment funds as applicable, and make tactical and strategic adjustments where needed.
  • Analyze risk and return profiles of investment opportunities and prepare and present investment recommendations to relevant senior management in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Generating an investment policy statement outlining our clients’ investment objectives.
  • Provide analytical and fundamental investment support to the IC where necessary.
  • Constructing successful investment portfolios informed by market conditions and economic trends.
  • Execute the administrative functions of said investment fund vehicles.
  • Works collaboratively with Investment Managers and Analysts to create and manage client investment portfolios.
  • Collaborate on special projects as assigned.

Relevant Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Investment or a related field preferred
  • CFA Charter Holder will be a plus
  • Successfully completed the Series 65 exam would be an asset
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in managing investment portfolios, with excellent investment analysis competencies.
  • Proficiency in international equity and fixed income markets and general understanding of alternative investment assets
  • Extensive knowledge of portfolio management techniques, asset allocation principles and investment policy statements
  • Extensive level of quantitative knowledge and skills, covering investment research, investment analysis, valuation techniques and financial modeling
  • High level of competence in the use of technology including cloud-based software, online platforms and word processing, spreadsheets and presentation softwares.
  • Good understanding of private credit investment securities such as bilateral notes and bonds, mezzanine debt, preference shares, asset backed debt, and other credit structures
  • General understanding of private equity real estate investments, international financial markets and the economies of the Caribbean, as well as portfolio management techniques and asset allocation principles
  • Ability to deliver high-quality analyses and reports to meet tight and inflexible timelines while maintaining high accuracy levels.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, professional judgment and diplomacy when dealing with internal and external contacts.
