Reliability Technician

Job Summary:

The incumbent is responsible for monitoring and evaluating the factors that affect the overall efficiency and reliability of the facilities and associated equipment. Recommending and implementing methods to improve efficiency and reliability of main and auxiliary equipment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Identify and characterize device failure modes by reviewing designs, analyzing operating data, carrying out approved tests, submitting new tests for approval and execution.
  • Gather predictive maintenance data from field studies.
  • Perform reliability related analyses, including but not limited to Mean Time to Failure, Mean Time Between Failures, Mean Time to Repair and other reliability measurements.
  • Interfaces with the Maintenance Planner to schedule Predictive maintenance and conduct tests to ascertain equipment condition and health.

 

Qualification and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized tertiary institution.
  • A minimum of Four (4) years experience with Two (2) years in a power plant environment.
    • Theoretical and practical knowledge of hand and power-driven tools
    • Ability to use computers and applicable software to include Microsoft Office, MP2
    • Willing to work rotating work schedules and extended work hours to include weekends, public holidays, and in emergency situations
    • Ability to work with minimum supervision and to provide recommendations and solutions to improve or mitigate adverse conditions, routine maintenance
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
