Job Description


Job title: Production and Installation Coordinator
Reporting to: General Manager

Job Summary


To manage the inventory control function, to supervise the functions of the factory and installation teams to ensure timely completion of quality work. Supervises the office staff when required.

Processes:

  • Assesses jobs, develops and implements plans to determine the requirements for completion within the required deadline.
  • Schedules and inspects work to ensure timelines are met. This requires planning and allocation of both human and physical resources.
  • Supervises the maintenance of proper inventory control and ensures all materials necessary for the production of jobs are in stock or sourced in a timely manner so that projected deadlines are achieved.
  • Assists with the calculation of bill of quantities (BOQ’s) for quotations and in house/into production jobs.
  • Provides daily updates/reports on the status of jobs to the General Manager.
  • Supervises and manages teams responsible for installations. This includes discipline of the staff as necessary in keeping with the Staff Rules.
  • Works after regular hours and on weekends to ensure all jobs are completed timely.
  • Schedules, controls and supervises all installation processes.
  • Issues and tracks all jobs requiring installation.
  • Ensures that factory equipment is clean, safe and organised.
  • Ensures highest standards and safety precautions are maintained in the manufacture and installation of signs.
  • Inspects jobs on completion to ensure quality control prior to leaving the factory.
  • Ensures that plant and equipment maintenance is carried out routinely.
  • Develops methods to promote quality improvement and employee productivity.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

  • Completes work timely in order to meet deadlines.
  • Remains professional and helpful when interacting with internal/external customers.
  • Responds and acts on customers’ requests (internal and external) with the appropriate sense of urgency.

Productivity:

  • Performs preventative maintenance and upkeep on equipment.
  • Efficiently uses materials/resources to minimise wastage.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Sound secondary level education, with at least five CSEC passes including English and Mathematics.
  • City and Guilds qualifications in one of the following areas:
  • Construction and Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Knowledge of materials and cost optimization, bill of quantities )BOQ), costs controls, and preparation of quotations/pricing is essential.
  • At least five years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or construction operation in a supervisory role.
  • Experience in Project Planning or Project Management.
  • Ability to work unsupervised for long hours.
  • Must have own vehicle.
  • Knowledge of working with electrical and power tools.
  • Knowledge of maintenance of tools and equipment.
  • Knowledge of operating aerial lifts.
  • Knowledge of laying vinyl.
  • Qualifications in Supervisory Management would be an asset.
