PROCUREMENT OFFICER (BUYER)

ELECTRICAL SUPPLIES

Purpose of the Role

To maintain the reliability of the organization’s procurement activities and minimise lost sales through the timely execution of the purchasing function.

 Principal Responsibilities

• Ensure timely deliveries of all purchases including electrical products, trading goods, raw and packaging materials and spare parts in accordance with established procedures through effective scheduling.
• Prepare and dispatch purchase orders to suppliers.
• Trouble-shoot discrepancies pertaining to purchase orders, and supplier deliveries as required.
• Conduct regularly scheduled visits to H&L owned locations.
• Maintain all purchase order, supplier, and cost information at an appropriately confidential level.

• Strong customer relations skills; poise, tact and diplomacy.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment within established guidelines.

Minimum Education & Experience

• Tertiary level qualifications in Business Administration, Operations Management, or equivalent
• Diploma in Logistics & Supply Chain Management or equivalent.
• 2 years' experience in a similar capacity.
• Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) certification is considered an asset.
• Experience working in the electrical industry is an asset.
