Responsible for the proper maintenance and repair of all locks, keys and related parts. Repair and open locks, make keys, and change lock combinations using hand tools and special equipment.
Main Duties & Responsibilities:
Keeps all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day to day maintenance of the hotel under the direction of Engineering Management. Ensures a complete understanding of and adheres to the company's fire and safety procedures.
Continually supports and improves engineering services that effectively address problems affecting both guests and associates.
Trains and instructs other members of the staff by passing along knowledge and skills to assist them in their development and the advancement of your own.
Strives to become an independent mechanic, analyzes problems and formulates plans to get work done quickly with a high degree of quality. Ensures that Engineering and the work area are kept clean at all times.
Repairs, rebuilds and opens locks. Checks documentation for the cutting of new keys.
Maintains communications with Supervisors to ensure that all materials, tools, and supplies are available or on order. Follows up on any items that may be back ordered.
Changes cylinder and combination locks when proper documentation is present. Responsible for the entire door locks on the property.
Ensures the security for all keys in this area that he has access to; successfully completes work orders assigned to him.
Perform other reasonable duties that may be requested from time to time.
The Company operates a twenty-four (24) hour business. Therefore, you will be rostered to work shifts, which may change from time to time.
Requirements:
Minimum High school diploma or equivalent vocational training
Ability to write routine reports, keep logs, and correspondence
Minimum 1 year formal training in Locksmithing; two years formal work experience
Must be familiar with various locksmith techniques
