Fleet Manager

The Chefette Group of Companies is seeking to recruit a Fleet Manager to manage all tasks associated with company’s fleet of vehicles.

Main Responsibilities:

• Administers vehicle asset management processes from procurement to disposal.
• Oversees and maintains an effective fleet maintenance program to ensure the vehicles are maintained in an effective and safe manner. 
• Ensures compliance with the appropriate licensing and insurance of vehicles and drivers.
• Analyzes the effectiveness of vehicle operations to reduce unnecessary expenses and increase fuel efficiency.    
• Monitors and updates all records relating to the fleet tracking systems.
• Manages the repairs and servicing of vehicles within the fleet by devising a sound vehicle management system to minimize downtime.
• Maintains current knowledge of road traffic and safety laws and Regulations of Barbados.
• Manages vehicle accident function across the company.
• Tracks KPIs, trend analysis and process improvement for the fleet across the group.
• Conducts vehicle inspections ensuring they are up to par to maximize productivity.
• Maintains proper documentation and records for all areas of fleet activities. 
• Assists with recruitment, training and management of drivers.

Required Competencies and Skills:

• A Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Auto Mechanics would be a definite asset.  
• Minimum of two (2) years’ supervisory experience within a related field.
• Knowledge or experience within of the insurance industry will be an asset.
• Good time management skills and ability to multitask.
• Excellent communication, organizational and presentation skills.
• A valid driver’s license is a requirement; however, possession of a heavy-duty license would also be an asset. 
• A willingness to be flexible in the role. 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office e.g. Excel, Word.
