DEPOT MANAGER, OCHO RIOS DEPOT

 

Core Purpose:

 

The Depot Manager is primarily charged with managing the Depot to operate as a profit centre and meet its defined contribution to profit while achieving sales targets. The Manager is also charged with meeting established Company and public health standards, rules, procedures, and regulations while building internal and external client relationships. In addition, the holder of the position will assume responsibility for the overall management and maintenance of the compound and its infrastructure.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the receipt and dispatch of orders from customers.
  • Generate necessary operational and financial reports at the frequency established by the Finance & Accounts Department.
  • Ensure accurate stock management by balancing stock daily and monitoring inventory to ensure adequate stock.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance, implement and/or recommend necessary changes.
  • Balance cash sales and handle all money and bank deposits in a safe and responsible manner while ensuring adherence to all Company policies and specifications.
  • Build and maintain sound relationships with all categories of customers.
  • Investigate customer complaints and recommend and/or carry out appropriate remedial action.
  • Manage Depot team to ensure harmonious working relationships and establish efficiency and effectiveness to meet the Depot's objectives.
  • Provide staff with training/orientation according to Company’s guidelines.
  • Maintain the safety and security of employees, customers, and Depot.
  • Ensure that all required government documentation and approvals e.g. Bureau of Standards, Public Health Certificate and Food Handler’s Permits, are in place.

 

Education and Experience:

  • First Degree in Management, Business, or a related field
  • At least 5 years’ experience in retail management and at least two years at the            supervisory level
  • Training in GMP and Food Safety Standards

 

Skills and Competencies:

  • Good leadership and organizational skills
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong sense of integrity, fair play, and confidentiality
  • Good interpersonal relationship with all levels of staff and customers
  • Use of initiative
  • Strong business acumen
  • Possess a flair for promotions and/or marketing

 

The selected Candidate must be willing to work on weekends and public holidays where required to achieve Depot and Company objectives.
