The Biomedical Imaging Technician is responsible for meeting the daily service repair needs of designated imaging and biomed equipment, to include multiple modalities of the customer's equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Carries out performance verification (PV) inspections, scheduled maintenance, electrical safety inspections, and operation verification procedures on highly complex biomedical and medical imaging equipment
  • Repairs, installs and calibrates highly complex biomedical equipment and medical imaging equipment
  • Inform supervisors of the status of repairs, scheduled inspections, unusual equipment situations and any customer concerns
  • Works with, directs and documents the activities of subcontractors, vendors, and other service technicians to ensure proper service delivery
  • Leads/assists with Service Operations Special Projects as assigned. Travel to sites (Locally and overseas) and/or works with other departments as necessary to provide technical specifications and configurations to ensure a successful outcome
  • Act as a primary responder to medical imaging equipment service calls and requests
  • Carries out repairs on both imaging and biomedical equipment and communicate status both internally & externally as required

Qualifications, experience and required competencies

  • An Associates Degree/ Diploma in a technical/electronics field
  • Technical Certification in imaging equipment is preferred
  • Two years’ experience in medical imaging and equipment repairs.
  • Experience in repairs to medical biomedical equipment is preferred.
  • Complex computer skills required and must have the ability to administrate a system, have basic computer repair knowledge and the ability to interpret computer and error codes, and apply networking conceptsKnowledge of Microsoft Office applications including networking applications
  • Knowledge of PACS and DICOM is required
  • Knowledge in medical imaging application is preferred
