Join the Dwellings Group as a Retail Buyer and play a pivotal role in our product procurement and category management teams in either Barbados or Trinidad. We are seeking a dynamic individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses a blend of analytical prowess and creative flair. Your role will involve strategic inventory management, vendor relations, pricing strategies, and market trend analysis.

Key Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with the Creative Director to develop and maintain product assortment plans that align with our strategic objectives.
2. Source and negotiate with vendors to secure optimal terms on price, market exclusivity, and payment.
3. Prepare and manage sales forecasts and Open to Buy budgets for your categories, ensuring optimal stock levels and timely replenishments.
4. Regularly review category performance, adjusting strategies to maximize sales and profit margins.
5. Coordinate with vendors and our Logistics team to ensure seamless order placement and delivery.
6. Partner with the Marketing team to enhance category promotion and sales.
7. Develop and deliver product training to Sales teams, enhancing product knowledge and customer engagement.
8. Compile and analyze reports on product performance and market trends.
9. Work with the Visual Merchandising team to realize the visual presentation of collections in showrooms.
10. Conduct market competitor analysis to ensure our offerings are competitive.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Logistics, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in retail buying or category management, preferably with international sourcing experience.
• Proven ability to meet strategic targets, such as sales growth and inventory turnover.
• Strong communication, organizational, and negotiation skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas and data management.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated creative and analytical capabilities, with a keen fashion sense.
