About the Role/Person

Core Responsibilities:

Working in a highly competitive FMCG environment, the role has the following responsibilities:

  • Lead sales teams to achieve ambitious objectives for established brands.
  • Ensure accountability in meeting sales targets and driving profitability.
  • Deliver Board-level presentations supporting customer business development plans.
  • Drive development of owned, agency, and bulk product brands.
  • Foster a sales culture aligned with organizational values and goals.
  • Coordinate with marketing, planning, and factory teams for cohesive business plans.
  • Manage relationships with regional managers, representatives, and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Identify and develop succession potential for local and regional growth.
  • Thrive in ambiguous environments, handling challenges with professionalism.
  • Maintain open channels for 360-degree feedback and communication.
  • Utilize analytics to drive operational understanding and results.
  • Establish effective stakeholder relationships to drive mutual growth.
  • Develop and implement sales team policies and procedures for effective operations.
  • Create regional and channel strategies to meet distribution objectives.
  • Implement strategic sales plans and trade marketing strategies.
  • Drive customer business development initiatives.
  • Assign sales territories effectively for optimal coverage.
  • Engage with key customers, negotiate deals, and maintain relationships.
  • Analyse market data to determine customer needs and pricing strategies.
  • Inspire, coach and develop sales team members for improved performance.
  • Support company public relations and promotional activities.
  • Resolve product/service issues and customer complaints promptly.
  • Conduct performance reviews and establish territory sales quotas.

Qualifications, Experience and Profile

The must-haves and preferred profile of the candidate are described below:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Sales, Marketing, Management, or Economics.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales leadership experience.
  • Proven track record in driving sales for well-established brands
  • Expertise in brand development, including owned brands, agency brands, and bulk sales strategies.
  • Demonstrated leadership in developing, motivating, and managing a sales team with a strong sense of accountability in achieving sales objectives.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adeptness in navigating ambiguity and sudden changes with ease.
  • Thrive in a demanding role, capable of handling pressure while maintaining composure.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills to manage relationships with strong personalities and navigate complex dynamics.
  • Creative with initiative and a clear sense of purpose.
  • Proficiency in financial terms and measures.
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Results-driven with a focus on profit and meeting deadlines.
  • Confident with a strong presence and ability to generate positive energy.
  • Customer service oriented and the ability to establish trusting relationships and partnerships.
  • This role requires frequent travel across the island and demands a significant presence in the western region.
  • Must own and operate a reliable motor vehicle registered in own name and insured for business.
