PURPOSE OF JOB

To receive specified goods and/or services being acquired by the company in a controlled manner, and to handle the physical, administrative and clerical details necessary to facilitate the timely, accurate and bonafide payment of Vendors, and keep the company's warehouse locations adequately stocked, well organised and running efficiently, supporting the Company's operations, as well as its loss prevention initiatives.

 

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES

• To maintain a clean, well organised, secure warehouse facility.

• To manage inventory levels for all items of stock ensuring that they are maintained at the optimum level and identifying stock for disposal.

• To maintain accurate records of stock items, and ensure that the movement of stock into and out of the warehouse is aligned with principles of proper stock rotation to minimise obsolescence, spoilage, expiration and atrophy.

• To support the relevant the company operations, where assigned, such as Wholesale, Retail and Transport, assisting in ensuring that the supply of product is able to satisfy customer needs, supplying stock on time to prevent stock out situations, verifying stock on hand and minimizing any operational downtime, if so assigned.

• To support all Departments of the organisation, in the controlled receipt of all goods and/or services purchased on behalf of the company if so assigned.

• To support Procurement in ensuring the procurement of the right goods, at the right time.

• To support Finance in ensuring the timely, accurate and bonafide payment for goods received.

• To support the application and implementation of all relevant audit and loss prevention measures, making recommendations for the introduction of additional measures, as determined necessary.

• To maintain the performance scorecard and delivery metrics for Vendors to facilitate Vendor Contract Management.

•To promote goodwill between the company and its Vendors of warehouse stock items.

 

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

• Certificate or Diploma in Inventory, Warehousing, Supply Chain or Operations Management, or equivalent.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration, will be an asset.

• A minimum of two (2) years' experience in an industrial warehousing environment.

• Certified to operate forklifts and other machinery used for moving stock items.

• Computer literate, with competence in the use of the Microsoft Suite of products.

 

Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, e.g. Maximo, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, Sage, etc., will be an asset
