Software Support Specialist (Junior and Senior)

  Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interface with client end-users and management to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Solve complex client business problems with innovative software solutions from both “off-the-shelf” and custom options.
  • Help to develop and maintain internal custom applications that integrate with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software systems.
  • Perform Data Extractions & Analysis and build BI dashboards.
  • Attain product certifications on an ongoing basis as new technology emerges.
  • Prepare required supporting documentation and presentations for supported applications.
  • Communicate effectively with all project stakeholders at various levels to ensure a project’s requirements are met.
  • Dedicated to delivering quality results on time and within budget, while meeting customers’ expectations.
  • Consult customers on digital transformation and best practices so that ALL their technology helps them to reduce costs and increase productivity, efficiency, sales and profits.
  • Perform ongoing management and support of various applications to existing clients on-site or remotely.
  • Performing tasks such as troubleshooting issues, conducting needs and gap analysis studies, system installation, setup, consulting, training, analysing and compiling requirements, writing specifications for software enhancements, customizing and testing.

Qualification, Technical Skills & Experience

  1. Technical Proficiency
    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/ Information Systems/ IT or related field from an accredited tertiary institution (required)
    • Microsoft Certification: Recent Microsoft certifications Azure, Dynamics 365 BC, Microsoft 365 (asset)
    • SQL: Deep understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and Database Management (required)
    • Microsoft Dynamics/ ERP Knowledge: Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central or Microsoft Dynamics SL, GP, AX or NAV or another Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Accounting solution or related including its modules, features and functionalities as well as experience implementing. (strong asset)
    • Power BI: Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI (asset)
    • Microsoft 365: Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Visio and PowerPoint (required)
    • Project Management Experience: Project Management experience (asset)
    • Report Writing Skills -   Experience with creating dashboards, reports or visual representation of data using Power Platform, SQL Reporting Services, Crystal Reports or Management Reporter,  or other such tools (asset)
    • Technical Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to Dynamics SL or Dynamics Business Central, such as configuration problems, data inconsistencies, and integration challenges. (asset)

2.     Client Service and Communication:

    • Active Listening: Ability to understand customer concerns and ask relevant questions to gather necessary information.
    • Clear Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills to explain solutions, provide instructions, and document interactions.
    • Empathy: Compassion and patience when dealing with frustrated or confused users.
  1.  Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills:
    • Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex scenarios, identify patterns, and propose logical solutions. (required)
    • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in troubleshooting steps and documentation. (required)
    • Adaptability: Being open to learning new tools and techniques as Business Central evolves. (required)

  2. Business Process Understanding:
    • Finance and Accounting: Familiarity with financial processes, chart of accounts, and general ledger. (asset)
    • Supply Chain Management: Understanding procurement, inventory management, and order processing.
    • Technical/ Service / Help Desk: Familiar with managing support help desk and tracking support tickets to completion (asset)

  3. Collaboration and Teamwork:
    • Comfortable working directly with clients at all levels
    • Working with Developers: Coordinating with developers for customizations, extensions, and bug fixes.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interacting with other teams (e.g., sales, implementation, and training) to address customer needs holistically.

  4. Continuous Learning and Certification:
    • Stay Updated: Keeping up-to-date with software updates, new features, and best practices.
    • Certifications: Pursuing relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 Business Central Functional Consultant Associate).
