JOB TITLE : Risk Analyst (Enterprise Risk Management)
REPORTS TO : Group Executive Manager – Risk Management
The Risk Analyst shall assist with the development and implementation of a sound Enterprise Risk Management Framework within Eastern and shall in all cases act in the discharge of their duties under the direction and control of the Group Executive Manager-Risk. This position requires a high level of confidentiality along with knowledge of regulations and legislation specific to the Group.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Developing, implementing, and promoting the approved Enterprise Risk Management framework,
2. To assist in creating a Risk Aware culture throughout the Group,
3. To provide support for Risk Owners in the identification, analysis, mitigation, control monitoring and reporting of financial and operational risks through a comprehensive risk assessment process,
4. To continuously develop, enhance and embed the framework for managing risks across the Group, ensuring that processes are fit for purpose,
5. To monitor major and critical risk issues and develop, maintain, and monitor a database of risks that affect the strategic and main operational objectives of the Group,
6. Conducts risk reviews of the Group’s procedures to ensure all process level risks and controls are identified and addressed,
7. To promote and guide the Group towards adopting risk-based decision making through training, communication, and promotion of the approved risk framework,
8. To develop and implement a system for monitoring Financial Risks and engendering a culture of financial risk awareness and management,
9. To develop and implement Enterprise Risk Management tools, practices, and policies to analyse and report operational risks,
10.To work with the Group Executive Manager- Risk, towards managing risks that threaten strategic objectives,
11.Prepare monthly Risk reports, which analyses and assesses the financial and operational risk profile of Group,
12.Perform a risk advisory role on assigned projects.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in a Business-related field,
• Master’s Degree or a Professional Certification in a related field (e.g. CIA, CRMA, IRM, FRM, ACCA etc.) is required;
• Must have minimum five years of experience in a similar role in a financial services institution,
• Applied knowledge of Enterprise Risk Management frameworks
• Experience using a GRC/risk assessment software/platform
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong presentation skills
