The Cayman Islands Crisis Centre invites qualified candidates to
apply for the position of: DOMESTIC ABUSE ADVOCATE (Part Time)

The successful candidate will provide support to CICC clients.
This position requires flexibility.
Domestic Abuse Advocates work on weekends and public holidays, inclusive of evenings and overnight shifts, but also might be scheduled to work during the week. They provide emergency relief often at very short notice.

Primary Responsibilities Include:
• Answers and responds to 24-H crisis hotline calls.
• Completes intake and exit Interviews.
• Assesses clients' needs and makes referrals to community agencies.
• Provides case management and advocacy; intervenes in crises.
• Conducts and facilitates psychoeducational individual and group meetings.
• Provides coaching and intervention to resolve conflict; assists clients with developing personal safety plans.
• Documents and maintains clients' files and communication in accordance with agency standards.
• Complies with all agency policies and procedures.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related field.
• In-depth knowledge about domestic abuse dynamics, trauma-informed care.
• Experience of working with victims of domestic abuse preferred.
• Crisis intervention, counseling and resolving conflict skills.
• Ability to remain neutral and emotionally unattached, yet still show empathy and compassion.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, computer literate.
• Must possess sensitivity, maturity, dedication, strong work ethics and ability to work in a stressful environment.
• Ability to work effectively autonomously and in a team environment.
• Fluency in other languages is an asset.

Compensation: Statutory benefits. Salary depends on qualifications and experience.
