Assistant Plant Manager

The role involves supporting the Plant Manager in all aspects of concrete operations.

A concrete products company operating in the British Virgin Islands is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and skilled individual to join its expanding ready-mix team as an ASSISTANT PLANT MANAGER. The candidate must possess a minimum of 8 years extensive experience in a ready mix/batch plant operation, hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil or Chemical), Construction Management or a Higher Education Degree from a Technical University. Excellent communication and written skills to effectively maintain positive customer relations, as well as proficient knowledge of relevant computer and software applications are required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Supporting the Plant Manager in all aspects of concrete operations.
• Coordinating production schedule to ensure timely delivery of high-quality concrete products.
• Liaising with customers.
• Overseeing fleet maintenance.
• Supervising plant employees, providing guidance and training as required.
• Managing the quality control portfolio.
• Assisting with budgeting and cost control measures.
• Maintaining a safe and efficient working environment in compliance with all safety regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience working in a ready-mix operation, minimum 8 years.
• Minimum of four (years) in a supervisory capacity.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and concrete batching software (e.g. Command Alkon and MPAQ)
